I remember looking up, debating whether to photograph the conspicuous scene.

Pulling stars from an endless, black-vinyl sky.

When this picture was made Kathryn was a relatively new Muslim convert.

We had the most glorious day today.

Then I took this one, some sweaty summer in Brooklyn.

Iris, the Goddess, is the golden-winged personification of rainbows.

Her eyes have witnessed too much for a girl her age.

Electricity causes a defining drainage problem and must be filtered.

I dreamt I had not died at all.
