Lukas Felzmann, Gull Juju Archive

The Gull Juju Archive consists of objects that Western Gulls have swallowed along the California Coast and flown across a stretch of the Pacific Ocean to the Farallon Islands. There the gulls regurgitated the objects in their nests and scientists found and collected them. While working on the islands Felzmann has documented all the objects without editing them pictorially as the birds have already made a selection.

Lukas Felzmann is an artist who works with photography and installations. He has published 4 books including Landfall, Waters in Between, and Swarm. He is currently working on his next book which is about the Farallon Islands, the geology, the animals and working methodology of the scientists.  It will also include the complete Gull Juju Archive. His work has been shown in Germany, Switzerland, Egypt, Colombia and the United States. He teaches at Stanford University.
