This is Seoul, more specifically this is Seoul, Gahoe Dong, August 14th, 2016, I was traveling alone with my creamer. When traveling somewhere for the first time it enhances the vibrancy of the place, the eyes are wide and overwhelmed by the amount of information perceived. When you are there it is a flurry of excitement, everything is built upon the last moment to become the experience. You’re surrounded by the possibility of the unknown, widely teasing you with joy, anger or indifference. All of this is casually excepted, stored and sorted away in our heads as memories, but memories are unreliable. They are fluid, changing over time imprinting faults information and removing seemingly unimportant details. This photograph is not a depiction of life in Seoul on the 14th of August two years ago, it is a depiction of my memory of it.
