A pioneer of German New Objectivity, Karl Blossfeldt (1865-1932) was a sculptor who studied and photographed the architecture of plant life as a teaching tool.   These collages of contact prints that Blossfeldt mounted on cardboard were discovered in 1977 and led to the publication of Karl Blossfeldt: Working Collages in 2001.
