Francisco Goya

Francisco Jose de Goya y Lucientes (1746 – 1828) was one of the great romantic painters.  He worked for the Spanish Crown and created visceral works of social protest and satire including the painting The Third of May, 1808 and the print series The Disasters of War and Caprichos.
